About the Artist
is an artist with a raw yet rich artistic background. Growing up in rural Bosque, New Mexico just on the Socorro County line, Avelino spent his youth riding his horse on the Mesa for hours on end. He turned his love of riding into his profession as a bull rider. Starting at a young age he rode junior bulls to competing in high school and then at 18 went professional joining the PBR and PRCA touring around the country.

When he was not preparing for the next rodeo, he would draw and paint. He first learned his passion and skill for art at a young age from a neighbor. Avelino took the skills she taught him and perfected his craft over many years. His leather crafting evolved over the years as well and has developed into a unique style. He has the ability to take your idea and create a unique item just for you as he draws all of his own patterns. He uses high quality leather to create functional yet durable leather items such belts, custom tack, spur straps, knife sheaths, gun holsters, and rodeo chaps. Not only does he test his designs to ensure quality, but he can perform repairs on all types leather items.
When he isn’t creating one of kind items, Avelino enjoys going to the mountains, spending time with his family, and still gets the chance to go out riding. Avelino's passions and his love for the outdoors radiate through his work. Avelino's detailed and meticulous work ethic will convey through the perfect item unique to you.
